We are so excited and deeply honored to announce that we have received our LIVE certification, making us Idaho’s very first LIVE Certified Winery!
LIVE, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, has been at the forefront of promoting environmentally and socially responsible winegrowing practices across Oregon, Washington, and Idaho since its inception in 1999. Globally recognized, LIVE (Low Input Viticulture and Enology) has become a leading authority in sustainable farming and production, setting the standard for excellence in the wine industry.
The path to obtaining the LIVE Certification involves a rigorous process. Each year, vineyard and winery applicants and members must submit a detailed set of reporting requirements. These are meticulously reviewed by LIVE’s third-party inspectors who verify that the sustainability goals are being met. We are overjoyed that our winery has successfully met these standards that aim to do the following:
create more efficient use of energy and water
lower greenhouse gas emissions and the winery's overall carbon footprint
address social equity
minimize waste via recycling, composting, and eco-conscious purchasing
address sustainability across the full supply chain
At 3100 Cellars, we’re committed to upholding these standards not only at our winery but also at our Finca Besada Vineyard. LIVE offers separate certifications for vineyards and wineries, and while we have proudly achieved our Winery Certification, we are now focused on obtaining LIVE Certification for our vineyard. We are diligently working towards this goal and are excited to share updates with you as we progress!
