As Idaho Wine Month comes to an end, we are thrilled to share some exciting news with our 3100 Cellars community. We are honored to announce that we have been awarded the 2024 Gold Medal for Best Sparkling Wine at the annual Idaho Wine & Cider Competition.
This prestigious event, held annually in the heart of the Snake River Valley, is organized by Great Northwest Wine in collaboration with the Idaho Wine Commission. The competition celebrates the Idaho wine industry and features a distinguished judging panel composed of winemakers, sommeliers, journalists, wine buyers, and educators from across the country, and each year the judging panel is made up of different wine professionals.
With over 214 entries in the 2023 competition, we are grateful to have our 2019 Whitewater Sparkling Wine recognized with the 2024 Best Sparkling Wine Gold Medal. This Whitewater Chardonnay, our most traditional champagne-style wine, boasts flavors of Jonagold apple and hints of Anjou pear, with aromas of apple tarts and apple cake.
Our Whitewater Chardonnay holds a very special place in our hearts, as it was the first wine we produced during our first harvest in 2014. Since then, we have strived to perfect this wine and deliver the finest bubbles Idaho has to offer!
When we founded 3100 Cellars, our goal was to create world-class sparkling wine in the heart of Idaho. Drawing inspiration from the French Champagne region, we have worked hard over the past decade to achieve this mission.
